Step 1: Heating Waste to Create Gas
The process starts by heating waste materials — like wood waste, plastics, and sorted municipal waste — inside a gasifier. This heat breaks down the waste into simpler gases, primarily hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which are the key components of syngas.
Step 2: Cleaning and Optimizing the Syngas
Once the raw syngas is created, it undergoes a cleaning process to remove impurities. This step improves the quality of the syngas, making it suitable for various uses. With a high calorific value, this clean syngas can replace fossil fuels in electricity generation, heating, and industrial processes, contributing to a lower carbon footprint.
